Zorin is based on Ubuntu LTS and Ubuntu Normal Editions; you can
choose to upgrade from LTS to LTS, LTS to Normal, Normal to LTS;
therefore it is in your hands as to how you want the OS to upgrade
itself. Remember the below two commands for upgrading via terminal
*)
To set options
sudo
gedit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades
Edit
the line "Prompt=?". The three options are never, normal &
lts. Never means no Distribution Upgrade, Normal means every edition,
lts means just lts
#)To
update
In
case you do not have the latest update manager, then use the below
command before giving the above command
sudo
apt-get install update-manager-core
However, this would not upgrade Zorin OS but its Mother Ubuntu. Unlike other OS like say Linux Mint, Zorin can't be upgraded through terminal. If one does by tweaking the through terminal, as I mentioned above, Zorin becomes Ubuntu and it is not good to use from that moment.
ADVICE
Use Zorin as it is. Else, you would lose peace of mind. If the support of the OS is Over, back-up and do a fresh install and finally restore the files and apps. This is the only way.
